Day 1 – Hiking on Mount Bulgheria

The journey begins in the picturesque village of San Giovanni a Piro, following well-marked trails that gradually climb towards the summit of Mount Bulgheria. Along the way, breathtaking views open over the Gulf of Policastro and the Cilento coastline, while the peaceful surroundings of the National Park offer the chance to spot local wildlife.

💡Sturdy hiking boots and layered clothing are essential. This route is recommended for hikers with a good level of fitness.

On the way back, the historic centre of San Giovanni a Piro welcomes visitors with its stone houses and historic buildings. A traditional dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients is the perfect conclusion to a day spent among the mountains.

Day 2 – The Camerota Coast

The second day explores one of the Mediterranean’s most spectacular stretches of coastline: Marina di Camerota. Here, the renowned Infreschi Trail (also known as the Masseta Trail) offers an iconic walk through fragrant Mediterranean scrub and dramatic sea cliffs. The route passes stunning locations such as Pozzallo Beach and the unspoilt Cala Bianca, repeatedly voted one of Italy’s most beautiful beaches. For the return journey, a boat trip from Baia degli Infreschi to the harbour provides a unique perspective of the cliffs and sea caves.

💡Choose the coolest hours of the day and carry plenty of water.
The coastline can also be explored by kayak. Paddling quietly along the shore allows access to natural arches and secluded coves, offering an intimate and unforgettable experience of the sea.

Day 3 – The Calore Gorges

The journey continues inland, where the landscape becomes cooler and greener. Near Felitto, the Calore Gorges reveal a dramatic landscape carved by the river through the rock. A walk along the riverbanks offers the soothing sound of flowing water and the lush greenery of the surrounding woodland, with numerous spots ideal for a relaxing break or a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters. The Remu, a medieval humpback stone bridge, is also an outstanding viewpoint for photography.

📌 The Calore River Trail is ideal for mountain biking. Following the course of the river through shaded and mostly flat sections, it offers a dynamic yet relaxing way to explore the area. Besides hiking and cycling, this is also a popular location for river canoeing, organised by local associations.

💡Don't miss a visit to the village of Felitto to taste its famous handmade fusilli, a symbol of a culinary tradition that has stood the test of time.
